Just curious if anyone has ever towed their Stinger on a U-Haul flatbed trailer (They brand them as 'auto transport') before? Moving one-way soon and need to trailer the car. Mostly curious about ground clearance and making it on the trailer without any damage/issues.

U-Haul Equipment specifications: Auto Transport

U-Haul did have a video showing how to use some 2x8's to load up cars with low clearance (they say under 6 inches - but I think it depends on a few factors).

Any input/tip/tricks/woes welcome!

never towed the stinger before but have towed other cars.. unless you are lowered, you should be fine driving up as we've got more ground clearance than some minivans... lol. but i'd measure the stops in the front of the trailer and the portion in front of wheels and see if you need to put the boards on the trailer like they suggest. I looked at the video in the link. Looks like only the front wheels are strapped down. Rear held in place by parking brake. They suggest leaving it in park. Why not neutral with all 4 wheels strapped down?

My GTA was trailed just fine, it's lower than my Stinger.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
Update on this for anyone who happens upon this thread..

Had no real big issues getting it on the trailer. Worked out just fine. When I came back off though, it sounded like I scraped just a bit on the driver's side, but I probably should have gone just a bit slower as it wasn't a problem on the way up.

Of course, on the way out - we sat in park for literally 3 hours or so due to an overturned tanker truck on the interstate. Didn't get to my destination until about 11:30 at night (had planned on 8:00 PM) - so it was pitch black when I was taking it off the trailer. Plus, we wanted to unload the truck still since I didn't want to keep my help too long the following day. A couple of friends helped out, I'm so glad I didn't hire some third party - that would have been a real mess. Not complaining - my family, our stuff, and the Stinger made it without any significant problems. Well - my back disagrees a bit with that perhaps.

One other note - the fold down wheel well - be cautious of that and the door. The shroud didn't quite go down all the way and I scraped the bottom of the door slightly when getting out of it at first, was more cautious of the door after that. No big deal, I'll just get a little touch up and hit the bottom of the door. It's hardly noticeable.

I suppose there are always a few dings and such when moving with ... something.

It'll work - just take your time :)

I'll find out for sure today! But I think I'll be good. I picked up some 2x8's just in case.

Nice GTA Transmetal! :)
Thanks!

Yeah, moving sucks. We've been in our house about 2 years now. I think if I ever move again, I'll be paying movers to move the big stuff at least, getting too old to be doin all that.

Yeah, I'm 100% with you.
