Hi all!
I am located in Rimouski, QC, Canada and I acquired last week a Kia Stinger GT2 HiChroma Red and Black Nappa Leather.
We have 8 months of snow per year and half of our roads are not asphalted so AWD was a must for me. We do not have any dealer or service for BMW, Audi, Porches, Mercedes or Lexus so my options was limited.
I changed my (sad) Honda Crosstour for that Stinger and so far I am stunned with all that power and beauty! I was definitively not expecting that much - a revelation! My monthly payment is lower than for the Crosstour, I still cannot believe it.
And this forum is the the icing on the cake!

Welcome and congratulations on the new car - you're going to love it! :)

You should pick up a set of the Stinger mud guards to protect the car from stuff thrown up by the wheels, especially if you have a lot of unpaved roads. They are surprisingly affordable from the dealer (about 100 CAD for a set of 4) and aren't huge or awkwardly shaped - they actually look really nice installed, and complement the existing trim. They make use of existing fasteners/holes so you aren't drilling/screwing into your nice new sheetmetal.

Have fun and enjoy the car!

Very good point. I experimented that yesterday, and I definitively need this, I will go today to my dealer - thanks for the tip, much appreciate!

Eight months of snow! Isn't your neck of the woods SUV country? You are a brave man (or woman, heh).

A man trying to survive during 8 month :) (I am not native)
SUV can be good but I am expecting fun and stability from the Stinger. The 40/60 ratio should be fun on snow!

Bienvenue! Je suis de Québec (Val-Bélair), voiture fantastique, j'ai hâte de l'essayer dans la neige! On commence à voir quelques Stinger ici dernièrement.

I haven't heard of that ratio. Front/Rear? I assumed that the "ratio" was pretty evenly distributed unless you went into Sport mode: then the disparity could be as high as 20/80, Front/Rear. I plan to use the manual gate continuously during lousy weather, and start off in 2nd gear on any dicey surfaces. And NO Sport mode at all in such trying times. But then, I am also intending to try my summer tires throughout the winter, trusting to AWD and my honed slickery driving skills. I've already driven on the summer tires in freezing conditions, during our limited late season weather in April (I've described this elsewhere); and the car handled it perfectly. So, thus encouraged, I do not have any plans at this time to switch to all-season or winter tires.

Welcome to the Hive and congrats on your new Stinger! You'll find plenty of other like minded people who are also very friendly on this forum! :)

Congrats on the new car! For the winter months, did you get your tires from the dealer? If so, what was your experience with them?

Enjoying this car in the snow is one of the few things I'll be looking forward to about winter! :D:thumbup:
