I had fun with the Stinger at a Porsche club Autocross. Was very surprised at how well car moved through some elements. Soft suspension was not keeping up with me but car did well dispite the sloppy suspension. Surprised quite a few Porsche’s and pretty much tied a new gen Subaru Sti with time a few tenths off his pace. My biggest issue was with transmission - It’s way to slow shifting for ax. I had a lot of fun including a couple runs where I drifted car out of every turn. With stiffer springs , bigger sway bars and some real AX tires I could have knocked a couple seconds off my time which would have put Stinger is some very fast company. Managed to put over 25 Porsche’s behind my fastest time. But thing that amazed me I was less than 2 seconds off some truly fast cars (GT3 and GT4 ) with good drivers Better than I had expected !

Sounds impressive.
The only thing I don't understand is the comment about the slow shifts? I'm willing to bet you shifted in half the time of the STI. Though very well a little slower than a dual clutch Porsche I guess. You really think that it handicapped you that much?

I've never driven mine in any type of comp so I'm just intrigued.

In quick manual scenarios when you want a gear it hangs a little bit longer than Id like. it might be associated with car when it’s moving around more maybe a sensor that measures lateral Gs. . Perhaps nannies not letting shift happen until car angle is better?

Yeah no comparison to my Porsche PDK dual clutch. That just fires off immediately. Whereas the Kia takes some time and is much more relaxed. I also don’t like way trans downshifts in manual mode. Some places it would downshift when I rather stay in second.

In most AX I don’t think it would be an issue if speeds are constant and above say 35 to 40 mph. However if course gets technical and you need to drop into first or transmission forces shift to 1st sometimes that shift from first back to 2nd can be slow.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
I'm certain you had a great time! Thanks for the pics and review!

Heading out again this weekend!

I was going to ask for clarification on the suspension comments, until I saw the pics - that's a lot more roll than I would have expected, despite being pushed hard.

Very impressive. Would be nice to see how the sways and springs improves the overall times.

I think springs and bars will take second off. More tire needed too. However suspension does incredible job of keeping tires flat to ground even at full tilt.

Agreed on the tires. As a matter of fact, when I went to the Stinger experience event, my instructor commented that if the Stinger had a wider tire, the mechanical grip will be much better and it would be gripper around the circuit than the vehicles they brought to compare it with (Panamera, A5, Grand coupe). He also stated the rear was very bouncy and that the Stinger would benefit from a set of stiffer springs.
