Hi all,

I have had my car for about a month now and the AWD malfunction light keeps coming on almost every night. Has anyone experience this? And was the solution?

Nope, I've had mine over 3 months and never seen that orange light there in the upper left corner

Nope. Take it in ASAP.

Were you messing around with the fuse to get it to run as RWD at all?

Not at all. I have already informed the dealership, but they keep insisting that it’s normal. They took it on a drive during the day and it did not show up, as the light only comes on at night and goes away after turning off the car. Its scheduled to go in for a overnight stay on the 14th, but I honestly feel like they’re not going to take a honest look at it.

Definitely make sure you document this so they can't come back and claim you were ignoring it.

The manual explicitly and repeatedly states that if any warning lights come on and stay on, or keep coming back on, that you should go to the nearest available Kia dealership and have the car inspected. To be blown off with "it's just normal" is crap service.

I've had my car for over nine months and have never had a warning light come on. They would spook me to the dealer for a service check pronto.

Yea, any yellow light staying on is not normal. Call the hotline for sure if you get the "it's normal" answer again. Show them the pic you posted here.

Any follow-up on this?

Definitely something going on there. Regular warning lights might mean a calibration issue. Does the vehicle clunk when putting it in reverse or when alternating forward and reverse? Maybe the differential is throwing some error code?

‘Frozen’ diff and more low speed sharp corners with a cold car when leaving work??

Easy fix. Thanks for info

UPDATE: It looks like it was the AWD fuse that was misbehaving. They have replaced it and the light has not come up since. It has been two days.
It took that long to replace a fuse!?

Glad it wasn't anything serious or expensive.
