Stinger GT VS Mustang GT - Vid

Except it takes about $4 and a toothpick to run 11s in a Mustang. Ok that might be a slight exaggeration.

I’d be interested to see how these times correlate to distance on a track. Not many opportunities to prove your car is faster to 125 or 155mph.

True, they're easy to modify. But give the Stinger tuners a chance. It's going to be just as easy.

I agree. Having owned 6 mustangs (3 Cobras)...they’re easy and cheap to modify. While the Stinger isn’t up to its full potential and a simple tune can wake it up, it already has forced induction. You can take a stock Mustang and throw about $6k on it and go from 400 to ~700hp.

For a Stinger, you’d need to buy bigger turbos and most likely need to beef up all the internals to get 700hp. At this time, it’d cost more than $6k. Since these motors haven’t been gernaded yet...who knows what limits and cost we would be looking at.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...

Really? $6k to get that much performance out of a Mustang GT? That's nice... Does that include getting the parts installed somewhere or is that a whole 'nother can of worms?

As for the Stinger GT, I do believe it already has forged rods and pistons. I think there's a possibility that 700 horsepower can be had without going to crazy...

$6k for parts. I wouldn’t even attempt to compare installations between the two. Mustang shops are easy to find and in every city. There are virtually no Stinger shops. If you find one, that’s an arm...maybe a leg.

I was just curious - if it was $6k. Done. That would be amazing. :p I'm sure the Mustang can be made faster than the Stinger but each car has it's high points. I think it would be near impossible to make a Mustang as luxurious as a Stinger. I think we're all here because we'd probably take the modified Stinger even if it were a little slow in the end...

I test drove a 2017 and it wasn’t anything to be excited about. I felt crammed in like I was in a 3rd gen RX-7. I like to man spread while driving and the Mustang doesn’t really offer that ability. I agree with you, were here because we love the Stinger and it’s far more luxurious than the Mustang. I’d buy a second Stinger before I bought another Mustang.

In 2-3 years, you’ll see Stingers running around with 800hp like the Supras we’re back in the 90s. Just need some parts out there...especially bigger turbos.

True. Just about anything with boost and a good base is going to get fast...

Well, the 0-60 wasn't as slow as RaceChip's. But the results are consistent with some of the conversation about how the tuning of the car keeps the beast from going crazy early in a run to keep the tires from spinning.
