Stinger AWD GT with red leather. Son sat in the passenger seat on a damp towel after a soccer game which created permanent wrinkles in the cover. Dealer wants $1500 for a new bottom seat cover plus $600 to install. Any ideas on other options?
Do you think steaming the wrinkles in the cover by an expert upholstery repair person would be worth it? It would be much less money--more around $500 compared to over $2000 to replace it. Or maybe just wait and take a lot of people for a drive so they can mash down the wrinkles.
Please don't spend any money to repair this (if you avoid it)... it is leather and will ALWAYS have wrinkles. Condition it and allow it to naturally level over time.

having leather seats with my Infiniti cars and with previous BMW's and Benz, leather will wrinkle, absorb color (blue jeans on a light tan seat for me) and also have a tendency to get holes and tears. It is what it is with leather. And it is a badge of honor to cause the issues as it shows that you love your car.

$500 to apply a little steam is outrageous - this isn't refinishing a grand piano. At that price somebody's looking to fleece you big time, especially for that minor amount of slack in virtually brand new leather.
Myself, I wouldn't worry about a few minor wrinkles, but if you want a cheap fix you can try this home remedy by 'Ish' at West Coast Customs. Kind of the reverse of what your son did with the damp towel ...
