Fascinating. Welcome to the forum. We have a couple of Saudi members already. I have even met @Salman (and his wife Huda), when they toured the US coast to coast a year ago. :D

Looks so luxurious inside with that CF and the light tan leather. Beautiful machine.

Welcome!

Based on what other Saudi members have stated in the past, the G70 sells better due to the badge - is that still the case?

How has the Telluride been doing for Kia in SA?

Has it lifted the image of the Kia brand, like it is doing in North America?

Hi there,

Yes that is so correct, G70 sales is much better than stinger due to the old image of KIA brand ,actually having a 48K USD Kia car is like committing a crime, you have to explain your self to everyone, however once they see the car and try it they get impressed and cost is justified to them.
But I am looking at the bright side, stinger is kinda rare in SA, so it attracts everyone and you will feel special.

Telluride is similar case to the stinger where people prefer the palisade (Hyundai) much more, you barely see a Telluride in the road , overall people here prefer Hyundai due to agency and value of the brand.

I think Kia's image is getting better in Saudi as people started to realize that they are reliable cars and being designed by German people, but still majority of people are not buying KIA for luxury or sports purposes.

So, even more so than here - where the Stinger continues to outsell the G70 (in large part due to the roomier interior) and where the Telluride is the most in-demand 3-row crossover and is commanding a premium over list prices.

(Hyundai still has a higher ATP and less discounting overall than Kia in the States, but the delta should lessen with the K5 and the new Sorento and Sedona hitting the lots shortly.)

And in places like Germany, the Stinger has vastly outsold the Japanese RWD competition.

Seems like things bode well for GV80 and G80 sales in SA.

How is Genesis (being the newcomer) seen in comparison to Lexus (not sure if Infiniti is offered there) and do you think having an all RWD lineup makes a difference (in comparison to Lexus, where their best sellers are FWD)?

How do you think a H/K HiLux/Ranger/Navara competitor would do over there?

Hello @YEH, actually saudi people adore Lexus so much for many reasons, firstly the agency is one of the best ,secondly after sale price is pretty high, however I can see Genesis cars is taking over the Saudi market since it can be considered as cheapest luxury cars (with high value branded), infinity is having good portion of the market but I feel that only infinity fans will buy the car, if common people were looking for luxury choices , infinity will be one of the last options.
In Saudi people don't care much about Drive modes much (AWD , RWD & FWD) since driving conditions in most parts of the kingdom is not harsh , i mean we don't have snow and it is not raining that much, if they want to go off roads in the sand they will go with 4X4 choices.

For pick up/ trucks choices, people are leaning more toward Toyota and Nissan.

My personal opinion:
I don't like Lexus cars, I am a German cars lover.
If I have to choose between Genesis, infinity or Lexus, definitely I will go with Genesis.

Why I chose the stinger, I wanted to buy a Porsche with customized features, the price went up like crazy, I found most of those features exist already in the stinger, so I liked the care regardless to the brand.
