It's going to be an interesting year. This type of car is not appealing to a large segment of the market. Kia knew that going in. All the Stinger has to do to justify Kia's investment is present a niche statement of raised Kia quality and performance. The very enthusiast quality of the Stinger is it's greatest selling point. If Kia can create a GT that grabs interest from "car guys", that says a lot about how far Kia has come, and points to where they are going. The Stinger will never be seen in large numbers. But I expect it to last as a production car for half a dozen years more or less. Kia has to have plans to boost this model into the performance market even further; OEM performance parts, or backing aftermarket development by third parties: anything to promote the mystique of the Stinger as the first and best of the fully tricked out, affordable, high performance GTs: appealing to the enthusiasts who are particular about what they buy.
Interesting but people need to buy more of these, if not doubt Kia will make a second generation Stinger which in that case will make me go buy the upcoming Genesis sports coupe that is supposed to be coming in the next few years. Is supposed to be the reborn gencoupe.
G70 sales might be eating into the Stinger numbers. Genesis G70 US car sales figures
Sales are still less than the Stinger, but from what I understand supply is very limited.

I saw a couple new G70's last Thursday. A 2.0 and a 3.3. I am glad I didn't wait. Their exterior look simply doesn't appeal to me. I'd purchase an A4 before the G70. Still love my GT2 though. I picked up fifteen gallons of paint and a 26ft Gorilla multi-position Ladder on Saturday and had plenty of room to spare.
Q50 - 2,230
IS - 1,115 G70 - 819 (should get over the 1k mark, if not 1.5k, once all the dealerships are up and running)
XE - 777
Giulia - 646
If not the C Class or 3 Series (sales of the 3er should rise after a couple of years of falling sales w/ the new model), pretty much fighting for market share (unless one is willing and/or able to offer stupid lease deals like Infiniti does w/ the Q50).
Right now, the Stinger has the more striking sheetmetal, but the G70 should be getting the Essentia treatment for its refresh.
