I plan on keeping my new stinger under my carport. Anyone have a good recommendation for a car cover? I will use it on rainy/windy days.

Commenting to find this thread easier later :)

under my carport ... car cover

You do realize, the carport will protect it from the elements?

Anything that blows/drifts in will rinse off.

yea my g8 used to get filthy under my carport. maybe because it was white. i have tons of leaves that blow through my carport.

I bought a car cover the day I got my car, then returned it the next day unused. We have a double carport, facing north, so it does provide very effective protection against direct sunlight. And any south wind misses me (carport is protected on two sides, south and west, and my wife's car is on the other side). But the main reason I dispensed with the car cover is because I figured getting it on and off would cause a lot more damage to the clear coat than it would ever protect; dirt, dust, grit would accumulate inside the cover, making that process hasten toward worse. So, no cover, just lots of baths. :p I do use a duster between baths. Use it right (no scrubbing, only light passes) and it is a very effective way of keeping a car looking nice.

What brand was the car cover? Did it fit good?

Like I said, I never used it. Silly thing was c. a hundred bucks, from O'Reilly's. It was a dumb idea I had and quickly abandoned.

The 1st night I owned my car an animal walked across the top. I assume a stray cat. I live in an area with 75 acres of wood around me so I need the cover for that reason. We have a 2 car garage on the main level and a basement garage. I have to keep my Z06 and SS Camaro and my wife’s Miata in them.

You mean, like this?:p (I thought it was a cat at first, but I think a cat with muddy paws is less likely than the feral rabbits across the street; fortunately, not a repeat offender; this was a once-off; I wanted to kill)

Yes very similar. I was not happy either!

I got a good light weight one from Autobarn some time ago and really only use it as a dust cover when I'm away for a few days or more. Stinger is basement parked so only gets a little dusty. Fits well but I'm unable to say how it would stand up in outside windy conditions. Relatively easy to put on and take off and afaik hasn't left any scratches. Brand is Streetwise and cost around $120 after discount.

Thanks for the link. One of my cars I bought a cover for from eBay fit like shit, even though it was advertised specific for the car.

I bought this one shortly after my car. Its good and tight, wind will not blow it off. Don't use it except whe I have the Stinger nice and clean, and rain is coming, or to keep pollen off when it that season. But it works great so far
