Wow, my last two attempts of leasing / buying a Stinger has almost entirely made me disinterested in this vehicle. The two dealers i worked with are just plain 'shady' at best.

I'm getting falsified numbers, negotiating the wrong trim, and not honoring a signed offer sheet. Just terrible...Not sure I should even bother!

I can't get anyone to come even close to what is a 'reasonable' number on a lease payment. I'm going for my third dealership and hoping this works. I'm open to doing a leas buyout, but that even has it's difficulties with some shady dealer tactics...

Email several dealers within a few hundred miles of your location.
Give them all the exact details you want and see who gives you the best deal. It’s time to copy n paste!

Looks like you got some good advice from a few people from Georgia there. I don't know if it make any difference but I sure would have talk to the general manager , I don't know if it would make a diffrence . Check out the service department at that dealership see if there is nasty as the salesman is if they are just walk , you only deal with the salesman for the purchase , deal with the service department for as long as you have the car. There's nothing better than a good service writer that will take care of you. All else fails tell him you're buying a G 70 .

This is great advice and I appreciate all of you guys chiming in.

I did reach out to the general manager where the dealer changed my sell price on the contract. He can get a chance to mend fences before I post what was actually done on this forum.

Don't give up, just keep trying out different dealers. Read reviews, etc. Also, newer Kia dealerships are definitely better than older, "shady" ones.

Hey, I live in North metro Atl and I found ALL the area KIA dealers shady. I tried working with several when the Stinger first came out and basically got fed up and gave up on the Stinger. I almost pulled the trigger on about 5 different other cars, but something just stopped me from purchasing something else. Months later I did some research and figured out the best prices people were getting and came up with my number and went into a dealer and told them to match my number and I'll buy today. They kept hemming and hawing, and several times we did the make a written offer and sign it and going back and forth, and the old we're not making anything, you're getting an great deal, there's just no room, can you explain where you're getting your numbers from, yada, yada. We finally agreed on a number and then went back into finance and they changed it, I guess figuring I would cave. I didn't budge. Eventually I didn't get the best price as compared to some that I've heard about, but was good enough and much better than what they were trying to sell at when the car first came out, so I just signed all the papers and got the hell out of the dealership. I will say all the people were nice and not slimy but just too indoctrinated into the KIA subprime customer service system. I just hope I have a better experience in the service department.

Shoot me a private message if you want names and details.

I stopped into a dealership looking for some valve stem covers ( out of town visiting looking for an excuse to take a ride ) anyway pulled in parked general manager in a salesman were standing outside I walked up and said what a beautiful car how do you like it yada yada . Walked back to the parts department which was way behind the show room I think the place used to be a Mel's Drive in , The shop look like a total grease pit and there was a customer asking about an oil change on his Optima and heard them say 125 bucks ouch . Anyway we walked out of there backwards got in the car and left . I couldn't help thinking that these were the people that killed John Wicks Dog .

I think the OP has shared the experience of many. I wonder if the mods/Sal could start a survey and sticky it on a relevant page for all to see. I would love to know how people on the forum rated their dealership buying experience.

I believe there's a whole forum section devoted to buying process.

Yes, there is and I have posted there many times. I was suggesting a quick and broad look at forum member's buying experiences in general in the form of a poll. There are lots of posts dealing with shady and unethical behaviors. An obvious poll with negative responses may be an excuse for KIA persons reading the forum to delve a little further into how bad some dealers actually are.

I agree and yes, i was planning to add this dealer to the forum. I didn't locate them when scrolling thru the list.

I purchased my Stinger GT1 at the Sarasota, Florida dealership. The experience was A plus. I have bought other Kia's from this dealership and so I am known to the sales staff, etc. I received great attention from the Sales Manager and Salesperson. Price was as I expected and compared to other Kia dealers in this area and in Florida I got an incredible price on this Stinger GT1.
However, this dealership is located in high end housing and high income Sarasota. Thus they must operate at a level that attracts and keeps high end buyers and they do. I have no concerns about returning my Stinger to this dealership for service.
