Hello, I just bought a tribute edition 2023 Stinger, is there an option to turn off auto dimming for side and rear mirrors? IRS a bit annoying at night in the city and I’d like to turn it off but couldn’t find it anywhere

The power button on the rear-view mirror will disable side-view dimming as well as rear-view dimming at the same time. At least it does on mine and I have a GT1 w the Homelink mirror

Yeah that used to work on my 2018 gt1 but there’s no power button on the 2023 model only homelink

Nope! not on the 22 and up. Can't be disabled unless you unplug the rear view mirror. which is really simple todo. But if you use the homelink buttons then those will get disabled too! Pick your poison! lol

Maybe swap in a pre-22 home link mirror with the power button on it?!?! Idk just tossing out an idea. I have an extra home link mirror from my last 19, if anyone in the Austin/Round Rock area wants to try it on their 22-23.

Not a bad alternative if that works! It should work in theory, as the connection has been the same on kia's since like 2015 or so.

I would check the manual there might be some sort of keypress combo using the homelink keys to turn it on or off. 1 and 3 together pressed for a while delete all the homelink stored remotes, so don’t try that one. Maybe 1-2 or 2-3.

Oh wow, ANOTHER feature axed for 2022 refresh. I suspect they knew the stinger line was a dead end when they were doing the design update... :coffee:

Well, you could just place a piece of black tape over the rear sensor. Run a finger around the top front edge slowly while it’s dimmed or flash a bright flashlight to find it, although I suspect it’s at the top center, as it is on my Subaru homelink mirror. My wife’s Ioniq5 came with the 3 button mirror like the stock ‘22 stinger one and it’s in the same location.

Negative! no such options unfortunately. No way to disable them without physically unpluging them.

If OP is brave enough! I can tell him which wire to snip on the rearview mirror harness. That way it'll disable the dimming on the outside mirrors and still retain all functions.

I’d cut it on the mirror side, not the car side. You can always replace the mirror. Replacing the harness is more of a pain in the butt.

But with that you have to take the mirror out, in which you have the chance of breaking them + you have todo both sides. My method is easier and simpler. You have enough slack in the mirror harness to reattach the wire if you ever want to go back.
