I have had to get the car jumped three times in the last week as the car wouldn't start. The dealer is going to replace the battery for me. I believe the problem is caused by the fact that my new car was 16 months old when I got it and had been sitting in a compound unused for that period. Could I be right?

That would be my first guess too. Hope this solves everything for you!

Cheers - me too!

I bought a showroom car and i too had to change the battery, maybe they missmanaged the powerboost pack or something i assume but my brand new stinger 5 month old had to get boosted a few times.. since the battery has been changed all is good

Hi, Christopher. Welcome to the Stinger Forum, a place almost as fun as driving the car, since we get to talk all about it. That way, we save miles and gas. :P

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
It is possible for the battery to run down if you leave the car with the AV turned on. Supposed to turn off automatically, but I had one time when I had it turned to Acc mode and it was down the next morning. Jumped OK. Had battery checked and they said OK. No problems for several months so it had to be related to the mode it was in when I left the car. (Yes, I know it is supposed to shut off after a minute or two....)

It may be a cause.. but my solution was having dealer change the batery.. a symptom of my battery was also start/stop wasnt functioning 90% of the time and when the dealership charged my battery they even did a check for parasite, or batery drains the next day but everything looked good. I expressed great persuasion to change the batery and everything has been fine the last 8 month. It is not all that uncommon that a new car can have a faulty batery.

Most of the time a bad battery can be traced back to abuse on the showfloor. Glad you got it fixed. The technicians have a very detailed check that they perform on the battery using the computer interface, so there might have been an issue they found there.
