Is it safe to install the bms speed limiter removal ? I have a 19 gt with the speed limiter set to about 130mph. If I went to a shop and got the speed limiter removed with the bms product would I have to be concerned about anything with the car ? Thanks in advance.

Just warranty. Other than that, the tires had better be (Y) rated, just to be safe.

I don't understand your response, what is "get to go"? The (Y) rating on the Michelin summer tires means that they are rated for speeds in excess of 186 MPH. With the 167 MPH speed limiter OFF, who knows how close to 186 MPH you could theoretically come? I read a few years ago on here, with a screen shot, of a high speed run in a Stinger that had been unrestricted, in the 190s, can't remember exactly: and prior that feat, a poster claimed that on the autobahn a tuned Stinger had gone in excess of 200 MPH. You would definitely want that (Y) rating, and not just Y, because Y is rated up to 186 MPH.

What set of tires will be ok to provide the best peace of mind in your opinion ?

They are, just not for Merlin.

I’ll talk with my shop before proceeding to be on the safe side and see if my current set of tires would be good
If you do in fact remove the speed limiter, that means in theory that you could exceed 168 MPH. If your current tires are "W" rated, then they are not adequate to your plans.

Well....if he ever comes close to doing 168 MPH.

This Audi truck not sure which one was playing on the highway lol. Shooting flames and all. Just want it open it up a lil bit more lol

I don’t think there is anyway a Stinger is getting close to 186 mph stock, unless it falls off a cliff. I remember a car magazine trying to get the last GT500 with to hit its 200 mph “claim”….unsuccessfully and that was with 662 hp

Lozic has gotten his shop car to hit 202 on the dyno, but of course any car can hit the end of its gearing without air resistance.
