Hi all! In terms of motorsports, I come from a motorcycle background.

When I want a motorcycle to sound the business, but not want to change the tune, I get a slip-on pipe.

What is the "slip-on pipe" of this car?

Specifically, what do I need to buy to get good sound out of the exhaust (not too loud or obnoxious), without having to change the tune or buy a piggyback?

Buy an exhaust. Just as with motorcycles, you can go from mild to wild, and change just the muffler or go all the way to the headers (technically downpipes from the turbos), with many choices for each option. Depending on your location, different options may cause "inspection" issues, if you have them.

Thanks for the response! Armed with your info, I searched for what I was looking for, which was basically a little more sound and no need to change the tune (no or little change in airflow). I figured I would find someone with a mild muffler-swap type setup, but I could not exactly find it. I did find a whole bunch of muffler deletes, which is not what I'm looking for. One dude had tiny Magnaflow mufflers installed. Sounded pretty good, but way more aggressive than I'm looking for.

Has anyone installed an aftermarket muffler that sorta looks like the OEM, but lets out a little more sound?

The bimodal exhaust we were offered in Australia does the job well I think but probably not available in Canada.

Google definitely is my friend. I searched the exhaust of which you speak, and found info that it is available in Canada (supposedly). I will investigate further.

Stinger Bi-Modal Exhaust Coming to Canada

Edit: spelling

I creeped in your profile and found it:
MBRP Catback + Secondary Downpipes

That's just secondary downpipe, correct? That sounds pretty loud, but it's hard to tell with nothing to compare it to. Was it much louder than stock?
I do not have MBRP (yet) just the secondary downpipes. That alone changed the tone of the exhaust. It didn't do much for adding HP but you said you were just looking for a different sound not HP.

I do plan to get MBRP as well as primary high flow cats but I do want my sound to be on the loud side.

Secondary downpipes are exactly what I am after. You are a gentleman and a scholar!

Last stupid question. Is there a difference between "downpipe" and "secondary downpipe", or is a "downpipe", being down-stream, secondary in nature (and thus making the terms interchangeable)?

That there my friend is a HUGE debate on what to call things

3.3TT - KHARTUNERZ - NEW CATLESS SECONDARY DOWNPIPES Ark Performance

Take a look at this image I posted with what I call things. The Stinger exhaust consists of 4 sections. These are my terms others will argue with different names for the sections the image in that link gives you a visual of what I'm saying.

Primary Downpipe - Has Primary Cat and CO2 sensors. You can replace these but depending on what you go with you will get a CEL light that can be cleared with piggyback tunes but there also so replacements out there that avoid CEL

Secondary Downpipe - This is what I've replaced so far in my exhaust. It removes the secondary Cat's. Reduces weight and adds a little HP and changes the exhaust sound a little bit.

Midpipe

Muffler Section

These are your 4 when someone says cat-back they could be talking just behind the first cat or the second cat. It's best to look at the picture/diagram so you understand the 4 sections.

Lots of options for each of the 4 sections as well just all depends on what you are looking for and how much you want to spend.

The most expensive option is an EVC (Electronic Value Control) which allows you to change the tone of the exhaust (open vs closed) like this Kia Stinger 3.3T - Jun Bl EVC Catback Exhaust System

Here are two locations that sell these I believe both will ship to Canada. Both are well known to Stinger owners and I've purchased things from both.

I'll always go with what I was taught, so I'm using these terms from now on.

Thank you so much. You see, I've been reading this forum for a while before buying a Stinger, and I've picked up a few things that now make much more sense, now that you've laid it out.

Secondary downpipe is what I will get for sure.

I'm going to check out the websites you linked as well, see if I can help the economy.

Both of these videos are with people that have secondary downpipes only. I’ve also been rocking this setup for about a year and it’s a nice setup, nothing crazy at all.

Another option possibly is the magnaflow catback as I’ve heard this is one of the more “quiet” exhaust options and has a deeper tone than the secondary downpipe only set up in my opinion.

Your first video is perfect that is exactly what mine sounds like. The second video they must have intakes because you can hear the blow oiff from the turbos

I like the first video for sure, and if that sounds like MrSmoofy's, I am more convinced than ever what I needed to buy.

I will see what Magnaflow mufflers will fit, and what they will cost, but unless they are much cheaper, I'll still go with sec. downpipes

Yea it sounds like he has intakes too but it’s essentially the same exhaust setup in both videos. Just different brands of secondaries.
