Smoke from engine

New chap here be gentle with me
I drive a lovely Kia stinger gt 2.2 finished back shift noticed smoke from engine drivers side right . Popped the hood some sort of residue dripping off and causing smoke any ideas see pictures attached will this be covered by warranty?

I will gently say that your post is hard to decipher exactly what you mean, especially since you are describing and photographing the 2.2 diesel, a very rare beast. the yellow patches, is that the 'residue' your talking about?

What are you having problems understanding yes that is the residue or I would rather call it something else but will probably get me banned . Photos would have helped you or others to understand. Apologies again for the inconvenience but you must understand my first post being alarming as for a car being a couple of years old and smoke from under hood is not acceptable.

It's all good friend, don't worry about first post being alarming. It certainly doesn't sound good to have smoke coming out of the engine bay.

I was a bit confused by the line 'finished back shift'. What does finished back shift mean?

As for the warranty - can't be sure. Does the car have a good service history, all previous services on time etc?

Back shift is a work pattern you get day shift back shift night shift holy moly Batman. Fsh Kia warranty 7 years is it not ?

now your op makes 100% sense. you came from your work shift and started up and smoke came out from under the hood on your (driver's) side, the right side. you saw this guck and too pictures to illustrate. from the illustrations it does not look as if anything is leaking. it looks more like something got spilled.
