Should I have some baseline mods before JB4?

I have no performance mods on my car. I will eventually be adding in CAI and exhaust replacement, possibly MBRP. Will I have any issues with running JB4 at a higher setting without these other mods? I will be changing out the sparkplugs for the correct gap I just wanted to make sure I wasn't starving or choking the airflow of the car if I didn't have these mods before. I have had my car for 3 months and I am ready for a little more power. Thanks for any responses!

Most run JB4 on 100% stock cars, or maybe add an intake later. Nothing else really need other than a plug regap.
