So I’ve noticed that people are removing their after market parts, and then selling them leaving the car back to stock for what I’d assume would be a trade in. I’m just thinking ahead. Has anyone tried selling the car with the parts already on? This is my first car with aftermarket parts so I don’t know how the value of them would affect the car. Would a dealership even take the car with parts added? Has anyone been successful selling the car as is to a private seller with the parts on? In the future I guess I’m hoping I would just sell the car as is and not have to deal with the removal of parts to factory, and then selling the parts after.

If you want to recoup money, part out before selling/trading in car.

It would be very hard to find an enthusiast who wants the exact same mods and would be willing to pay a premium for them in this market.

Even if I got half of what I paid out for the installed mods I think I’d be just fine with that. The car runs so good the way it is. I think it be an injustice for the car to go back to stock lol.

Depends, I would probably leave the aftermarkets exhaust on as well as intakes, upgraded spark plugs.

Anything more Id remove.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
I added a bunch of stuff lol. Intercooler, secondary down pipes, exhaust, plugs, jb4 with ewg, OCC, eibach sway bars and intake.
Hmm, definitely would remove the downpipes. People have their own taste on how the car sounds. A regular catback exhaust like borla/MBRP is normally accepted by stinger owners/buyers.

Not sure on the intercooler.. but for now, imo would remove the downpipes/jb4 w/ewg and occ as some dealers are eery of it.

Sway bars I completely forgot about (im actually wanting to buy) Is offered in KIA dealerships so shouldn't be a problem with it on.

Jb4 stuff Id take off and definitely sell private.

I should have removed my sways from the last car before selling. They would of easily sold for a few hundred.

If you're selling to a dealer than it just depends on the dealer. A Kia dealer that wants to CPO it won't do so with aftermarket stuff on it. But other dealers may not care. I know because I just went through this, I had two dealers that didn't care about the mods and offered me $40k, but the Kia dealer offered me less because of my intakes (they didn't know about the exhaust) and they wanted the stock wheels put back on.

This helps thank you. Now I’m wondering what are my chances of a private sell to sell as is.

Curious, I have a 2019 gt2. I also added Borla exhaust and down pipe/mid pipe, jb4 & high performance plugs. Currently having misfires when accelerating from standstill. I’ve disconnected jb4 and currently have no issues. My question: do you think the EWG wires would correct the misfire issue?

May be the plugs. Check them again to see if you gapped them properly. Sure you can check on getting the ewg but my guess is the plugs.

Members have sold their cars to Carvana and Vroom with mods still attached, that might be another avenue.

Carvana and Vroom do ask if you have mods though, no idea if they drop the value for them or not.

Welp... in my experience mods lower the resale value drasticly.
Example.
An OEM all stock evo 8 will pull 35+k buvks
A 600+hp heavily modified evo 8 goes for 20k tops (if it is running well)

Stock mk4 supra will pull over 100k
Meanwhile a 1000hp supra not to many years ago was 55k

(In my area)
