Self Healing Vinyl - It works !

So I've had my gloss black 3M vinyl roof on almost 2 weeks and I was washing it today to prep it for a coat of sealer when I noticed it was scratched where the installer was working out an air bubble . I had hesitated doing a vinyl roof vs paint partly due to vinyl being susceptable to scratching .............I know that PPF and Vinyl are reported to be self healing with proper heat application so I pulled out my heat gun and gently applied heat to the scratched area ........................the marks completely disappeared ! sorry for lack of a pic , if I have to do this again I'll take a before and after ...............
Somone with the PPF should give this a try on any scrapes or rock divots ................Merlin !!!

I'm too scared! I have a HOT hair dryer, not a heat gun. That seems too much like using a "shotgun" to try for a bullseye.
