Hey all, I kinda impulsively pulled the trigger and bought some new rims for my '21 GT a little while back from element wheels, I went for the Variant radons just loving that aesthetic and gloss black color to contrast my ceramic silver Stinger. Rims arrived and look great.
I've been researching wheel and tire sizes on TireRack and tiresize dot com and wondering if anyone has had experience with wider wheels on the front and back?
I saw one thread here where people have done 8.5 front and 9.5 rear, and 275 width tires in the rear without problems.
I have the stock 19" GT wheels currently: 8.0J×19 front with 225/40R19 and 8.5J×19 rear with 255/35R19 tires (Primacy Tour A/S).
Planning to use the stock rims with some winter tires maybe in the future if I have to do a lot of winter driving here in Illinois.
The new rims are 8.5" front and 10" rear. I wanted 9.5 rears but they only had 10 for the look I wanted.
Based on some recommend sizes, I found that front tires should be preferably 235-245 width and rears 265-275 (to fit these wheels).
Right now I'm leaning towards 245/40R19 front and 275/35R19 rear. Do you think this will work or should I instead do 235/275, 235/265, 245/265 or something else?
Thanks for the read!
