Hi all,

Happy new owner of a GT2 here. In my previous Kia vehicles the nav search/address entry using on-screen keyboard was available even while driving. This was particularly helpful for the front passenger to enter information while the vehicle was already in motion. It appears this is not possible on Stinger possibly due to some new safety rule. Is there a way to override this? Thank you for your input.

Use voice commands. That means you have to learn how KIA's system work to use it correctly. I used to do that before Carplay, now voice command with Carplay.

Thanks for that. This is something I have used on my past cars, as well. The problem is unless you know your target's exact address, or your POI is nearby and in the UVO's fairly narrow database, (and you are not using Android Auto/Carplay, or searching locally via Google), it seems impossible to search by specifying state, then city, and then something like the name of the mall. Granted, you can do that by typing, but that may be impractical once you've hit the road.

The Hyundai/Kia/Genesis Infotainment is fantastic with basic tap-and-go functionality across the environment, but fails pretty hard once you start doing anything remotely "complicated" like trying to voice search for a specific POI or address.

I really hate plugging my phone into the car and *really* miss Wireless Carplay from my BMW, but I've just decided to take the plunge and plug in just for CarPlay. It's so much nicer.

Thank goodness for the Google search function in the cars with telematics. It works beautifully as you would expect and integrates fully with the car's nav. The regular built-in search and address entry is a total fail (voice or screen activated).

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
