Sept 2 2018 realized I was going to buy it.

41,000 miles of road trips and vacations. never a single issue always a joy to drive and still it was getting looks and I was still being told "what a great looking car"

Always fun to drive. Always excited to get In - even for a short trip across town

Then in a private access road to a shopping plaza, someone decides to blow a 4 way stop at probably 35 to 45 mph.No breaking. perfect perpendicular hit by a kia sorrento.


luckily I was the only one in the car. all passenger airbags deployed.No one was hurt in either vehicle.
Amazing thing. was. the car started and hummed - no issues. inside cabin showed no damage or. intrusion even the passenger side glass did not shatter, it dropped but stayed together.
Evaluation showed all forces distributed perfectly along. the cage. door mounts and pillar supports where completely destroyed internal roof supports buckled...even though it. looked. fine.
Total loss.

You are all driving a very safe vehicle

Thankfully nobody was injured & thanks for your write up on how the car handled the situation to protect the occupant.
Although it’s totalled it did is job, will you be replacing it with another Stinger.

Yes I could imagine the shock of it all, yes it’s just a car & as it has performed so well for you since your purchase it’s all the more reason to consider a shiny new Stinger to continue your love affai.

I was hit on drivers door at about 80mph relative closing speed by a DUI who lost control while driving aggresively in an SS Camaro. Ripped the entire front corner off his car but he still tried to drive away. I was spun around into a ditch.

I was driving my 2011 Sorento. Not a scratch. Bought my 2015 Sorento the day after I received the check.

for those who might---but hopefully never--have to go through a total loss.....
I had the awd GT with advanced driver assist and remote start add ons.
insurance initially offered $23,000. i complained that they had missed the add-ons, and
i also sent them salvage pricing since the engine wasn't damaged:

6 cyl twin turbo-$5000
twin turbo chargers, about $1500 each
etc. etc.

i just accepted an up offer of slightly over $29,000.
i am very happy.
son of stinger has become a real possibility.

Sorry to hear about this but I feel like if you love the car and it seems to have really kept you safe in that accident it's kind of a no brainer to get another one. If you can hold out to for the refresh do so, if not go hunt down your favourite colour combo!

If that were my car, there is no question that a new Stinger would already be in my driveway. Glad you escaped any injury whatsoever and got a good settlement with your insurance.
