Well, it would make sense that the
G70 has more power. That's kind of a given. If it were a Hyundai branded vehicle I would think otherwise. But "Genesis" is supposed to be the top brand from the Koreans. The same goes for the
G70 being more expensive. It makes sense. Where I'm a little confused is - how are they going to make it lighter?
Genesis buyers are going to expect a more prestigious experience than the Kia Stinger has to offer. The
G70 is going to need to be more quiet. That means more sound deadening material - which means more weight. How are they going to make it lighter?
Okay, let's think about this for a moment. Hatchback vs trunk. When I was growing up in the beginning of time, right after the Earth was created (or whatever), the Mustang of choice for people who really wanted to go fast was the Notchback. The "notch" had a trunk as opposed to the hatchback from the rest of the models. The trunk shaved off 100 pounds - mainly from having less heavy glass.
So that's one way the
G70 could way a bit less than the Stinger. But I imagine sound deadening material will make up for that difference. So what's next? Racing seats? I really doubt it. How comfortable would they be? Are there really comfortable racing seats fit for a luxury car? I'm not sure - but let me know if there are. If so, then that would be one option.
Lighter wheels? I think that's a good possibility...
Lighter brakes? I wouldn't be surprised if they offered ceramic brakes for the low, low price of your soul.
No moonroof...
I have a feeling that not all
G70 models will be lighter than the Stinger. You'll need to select the perfect options, not available in the Stinger, to make that happen...
