I'm a newbie here driving a 2021 GT with 1600 miles on it right now. It has got to be spooking a lot of newbies reading about all the brake rotor problems. Has KIA changed materials by now with the 2021 models or is it a given that sooner or later....premature rotor problems? Do driving habits contribute to the problem? Is there any way to avoid what seems like a majority of Stinger owners are experiencing?

My 2021 has the problem. I just ordered aftermarket pads and rotors.
Mine started on a long high to low elevation drive. I bedded the brakes again, but it returned.

Kia hasn't changed anything. And a majority of Stingers are not experiencing this. If that were the case, then the majority of forum members would be singing in chorus. Instead, we have a relative handful of complaints. So, if your new car hasn't developed "rotor problems" don't borrow trouble.

Solutions: first of all, it isn't the rotors, its the pads on N. American Stingers (less than a handful outside our market have complained of shuddering brakes). The first manifestation of shudder, rebed the pads. If that doesn't work, do it again. When you're sure that rebedding doesn't make the shudder go away then it's time to get warranty work done: this is nearly always resurfacing the rotors. Do NOT put on or keep on OE pads; the problem will just return. With your freshly resurfaced rotors, you want to change to aftermarket pads. There are quite a few choices: I cannot offer personal recommendations, but I've bookmarked this post as my starting place, should the need arise: FAQ: Vibration under braking: warped rotors? NO!
