Round trip Charleston, SC - Asheville, NC, 547 miles in Comfort mode, about 95% highway, running 5-7 mph over limit when possible, 30.7 mpg overall. Stinger sightings = 0.

Was that a 2.0T or the 3.3T? Nothing in your Signature line or message to indicate which. Looks good though.

That's not good for a 2.0T. This must be a 3.3TT. I think that I can get my GT1 up to 30 MPG with that much freeway driving. IF, that is, I can "just drive the damn car" and not "stand it on its bloody ear!" My preferred drive mode on the freeway/highway is Custom, with engine/transmission set to Eco and everything else in Sport. Mixed driving around town gives me c. 22 to 23 MPG.

Been trying to stick to ECO for a whole tank but that hasn't been successful, some one always does something silly and I end up in comfort or sport and blasting away from traffic to get away from them. :)

With reports of people not being able to wring out more than about 25mpg, that's not bad. Even my 2.0T Optima struggles to get more than about 35 on the highway.

Mike, you should have gotten a hybrid. :) Mine averages 35 now, from being driven in sport mode, on a regular basis, while manually shifting. It won't win 0-60 runs like the turbos but she is still plenty fun when driven hard. The Stinger is all about the fun and even in ECO mode if you put your foot down, it will go. One day you too will join the Stinger crowd. Waiting on you to come over to the dark side. LOL!!

It must be the turbos (no duh). When they are demanded, all appeal to drive mode goes out the exhaust pipes. There is only one drive mode when the tubos kick in: LUDICROUS SPEED (just ask Sal, ;)).

Hybrid!?!? Aaargh! Not me! :)

But I'll have to say that when you get really good mileage it kinda spoils you.

On a 2500-mile round trip the difference between 25mpg and 35 is about 30 gallons ... and at close to $3 a gallon that adds $90 to your trip cost. I'd rather spend that 90 bucks on a steak dinner for two than to put it in my tank.

To be honest, I'm not quite ready to trade yet, but when I do it will likely be for either a Stinger or a Genesis G70. As I've said elsewhere on the forum, I'm not ready to give up my 360-degree camera and ventilated seats, so Kia had better add those if they want me to get a Stinger!
