Wanted a Stinger with the red interior but could not find one locally for the price i needed with the GT2 options.

Found one with the black but still the red called to me… so I ripped it all out. Haha

It evolved into a bit more of a build than I expected but it’s done now. Did not expect to learn how to re-do upholstery or tear apart the trim panel components but it is what it is.

One the of the seat assemblies may be junk as it’s making a bad groaning noise when you raise and lower it (31 min mark). Think it’s a motor or gear issue? Don’t want to trash it if I can fix her.

Now I have a garage full of black interior parts.. wife is gonna kill me haha

Now I just need to keep it really clean as it shows wear faster than the black leather did.

very revealing, literally. I have wondered what the interior of all the interior bits looks like, now I know. just curious what the total time span of your video was from start to finish.

Did it over a couple days. Months spent sourcing the parts looking for good deals.

couple of days! a lot of that one-handed too, since you were not just redoing your interior you were documenting it. amazing.

Great video. Thanks for sharing. I’m interested in some of the black interior parts. Let me know if your selling them.

You would think a video just sharing your project would not annoy people but there is always that one guy.

Had a dude annoyed with me using paper towels to clean the grime off the door panel… I mean really lol.

He also thought I worked the dents out of the leather wrong… can’t win for trying haha. The dents went away after I was done and I was trying to demo with one hand while holding my camera with the other?? People are online experts on everything now. Haha.

Hi! I'm contemplating replacing my black interior with a red one.
I found a donor GT with all seats and door trims in very good condition. My question is: will the connectors work from my GT Line to the GT seats?
My GT Line has the basic leather with memory seats, including heated and ventilated. It does not have the bolster adjustment from the GT. Will this work on my GT Line? Can I count on a straight swap?
The door trims should be the same as mine also has the HK sound from the GT.

^^^ Winter boredom, Andrei? Speaking of myself only, this smacks of a project "just because". And in my experience, limited though it is, because I don't typically do "just because", they end up being more work than reward - if not a disaster. But to your question, in my reading over the past seven-plus years, I have never heard of the slightest difference in seat compatibility, door cards compatibility, and so forth. Now, will pinching bolsters operate in your car? Don't know, if not, so what, you'll not be out anything that you already have. Since all the rest is what your seats already do the connectors are probably the same. But wait, 16 seat adjustments compared to 12? That's a question, I would like an answer to that one too.

@Snicklefritz I was not aware there were more adjustments on the GT than on the GT Line. Exciting :D

Yes, I know it makes very little sense, rationally. However, I always wanted this red nappa interior but would have had to wait 8 months for it when I bought my car. Was not going to happen.

Now that I've had the Stinger for 6 years and have decided to keep it long term as a daily, maybe it's time to get that red interior. And, I found this place that not only sells one in great condition but can also install it in their shop. The only catch is I need to drive about 9 hours to get there. I was thinking I can make a trip of it. I've never been to that part of Poland before :).

Just need to convince them to take my black GT Line interior and give me a discount on the red one.

That sounds like fun, and you are the Europe touring man, I remember. Hopefully the harness connectors won't reveal any nasty surprises.

I drove our '19 Base with black interior for around 2yrs before deciding to buy another G70/Stinger. After checking out a SWP Stinger with red interior, I definitely wanted those red seats. G70 also has a similar red interior that is even more gorgeous, but the 2.5T was not available at that time.

FWIW, I actually prefer the standard red leather, instead of the higher-trim nappa leather. The softer premium nappa feels great, of course, but some G70 owners have reported what they considered premature wear. No doubt a lot of it is depends on usage, but since ours are long-term keepers, I'll gladly trade premium for wear-resistant. In our '19 base, it has worn remarkably well for a 5yr old car.
