For a few months now, when reverse is selected, a blue screen appears. The proximity grid is present, but the background is blue, with no image present. This is unpredictable. It happens every once in a while. As proof, I’ve taken stills and videos to show my dealer that I’m not spoofing him. To date, he initially took the light panel off and inspected the wiring/camera, and said that it may have been a poor connection. Not! He then replaced the camera. Worked ok for a while and then not so much. Back to square 1!
Surely, I cannot be the only one with this issue...!
HAAALP!

Hi. Reverse camera failures are super rare. I read of one, iirc, last fall.

I recall seeing someone reporting a side mirror camera (for the 360 surround view system) where that side view showed up as blue on the main screen. IIRC, it wasn't the camera but the electronics it was connected to (that accepted the camera inputs and mixed the images for the dashboard display) that had failed and required replacing.

Shouldn't be a problem to get that fixed under warranty - if it's still intermittent, take them another picture with a current date stamp, showing the problem is still there.

Thanks for that...
I suspected as much, as to what else could it possibly be??

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
having rear camera issues....weeell..lol..a lil more than just that... Actually it all started when i hit debris on the freeway (common in CA) and tore half of my M&S front lip off and left the underglows in front broke off and wires hanging. So i took off the bumper off and replaced the front lip and added diffusers and tightened down the lower grill which was just unclipped and replaced underglows and all worked fine. I only saw one connection on driver side and looked fine on removal and install. Everything was working fine for about 2 weeks....then my adaptive light error light in dash cluster turned on. When that happened i also noticed that the normal light self test at startup only moved the lights up and down not side to side like normal. Then when i reversed the reverse rev camera went black until i took it off rev. then displayed all like normal. I also noticed my front seats ac/heater did not turn on either (was checking all the option buttons to see what didn't work). On top of this all i am getting a "Discharge battery warning" while i am driving the car saying i need to turn motor on while using the system?? I have searched for a cure or fix but nothing i could find seems to fit my issue. is a fuse possibly blown or wire connection as everything connected was double checked. I am left scratching my head and don't want to keep driving with this battery warning and don't want to visit the dealer since i have underglows/jb4/fuel it kit/all connected and i know they will try to point the issue to one of these connections. Any ideas or thoughts? sorry for the book but wanted to be clear on the issue. btw its a 2018 GT2. Thank you fam!

Electrical gremlins are the worst. Wonder why replacing it worked for a little while. Grounding issue damaging things over time?

Had mine turn completely black a few times, usually just for a few seconds but not what you want when reversing.

Mines been on the fritz for months (now just green screen used to be blue or blue green or purple etc), awaiting a new head unit. Turned on sport mode for once (usually drive on comfort or custom with soft suspension). Fixed the problem after a drive....I swear this is also a dodgy connection
