So I finally removed the "Stinger" and "GT" badges from the hatchback of my black Stinger.

As careful and patient as I was, or maybe thought I was being, there is a slight discoloration remaining where the emblems were (like the shine has been removed and it is "dull" looking). Maybe I rubbed a little too hard. Its not overly noticeable, in fact you have to move around and get the sunlight just right to see it, but I know its there and will not be happy until it looks correct.

Looking for suggestions to remove the discoloration and return the original shine??

Thank you

Just polish area then apply some sealant/wax

I've been impressed at how effective Meguiar's hand rubbing polishing compound is. I have a buffing wheel compound too, but have only used it (by hand, by the way) a couple of times, before finishing up with the burgundy bottle stuff: i.e. the heavier buffing compound has not been needed. So, I think that using an equivalent hand polishing product should handle this. And when I am done getting out the light scratches or abrasion, I put on two or three layers of wax over that area. So far, this remedy creates a finish that is indistinguishable from the surrounding clear coat.

They are not the same. And I have used both. The ultimate clear safe rubbing compound is better (less risk of damage). Follow with Polish if you like. Then sealant/wax.

clay/compound/polish/wax-sealant.

Let me say double THANK YOU!!

Little clay bar, followed by lite work with Mc's Ultimate compound, followed by lite work with Mc Ultimate polish, followed by Mc's ceramic wax...and she is shining like new
