I had my Stinger in for an oil change and I had them service for the recall as well. 2 things:

1. They forgot to reset my service light after the oil change, can i do this manually or do i need to bring it back to the dealer?

2. I'm not sure if i just didn't notice this before having the recall serviced or not, but here's what's happening now. It seems that my guage clusters no longer dim, they stay at full brightness all day/night. It has me second-guessing myself, should the guage cluster be dimming some at night? Can i adjust this somehow?

Also, it seems that the sensor that controls the air conditioner and radio button lights is VERY sensitive. I never noticed this before the recall service as well. In the evenings when driving, they will flicker on/off 99999 times as i pass by each tree on the side of the road as the sun is setting. This isn't normal right?

1. Not real sure. Someone on here can answer that I am sure.
2. Yes on the left hand side next to the gas cap release is another switch to dim the gauge lights.

The flickering I have noticed a few times as well. Not on the radio lights but on the dash. The green light that shows that your headlamps are on. The light sensor does seem to be sensitive,. Other users have noticed as well.

To reset your service interval just go through the menus on your gauge cluster to the last menu option to adjust settings. Scroll down to service interval and reset it or deactivate it. I personally don’t use it since it’s easy to keep track of 5000 mile intervals.

The light sensor sensitivity has been reported by others here and I think it might be “normal” although I haven’t noticed it yet with mine. Some have said to just not use auto on your headlights when you notice the trees are causing it to happen.

I agree the over-sensitive auto headlamp feature is normal. I drive a tree lined road every morning and just manually operate my headlights now because it got way too annoying.

This doesn't work for my Kia stinger GT 2017 and I can't find anything on the internet driving me crazy, the options after selecting service intervals are just not there it's just a screen saying service -10 days or whatever

I find this with a lot of the automatic controls in the car...they seem to work well most of the time but not always given different situations. If it can be switched off, I usually end up switching these controls off, as sometimes they surprise me, not in a good way.

Did you ever figure this out? I just got a new cluster and having the same issue. No options after selecting service intervals... I’d like the change how often (miles/time) the service reminder happens (right now it’s 999,999 miles and 99 months).

If all you want to do is reset it, I think I can help you out... when you are on that screen that says “service -10 days” press and hold the “OK” button on the steering wheel. It should pop up with a prompt that asks if you want to reset the service interval. But again, that just resets it to whatever it was before.. doesn’t give you the option of changing how often or how many miles until the next service reminder.

Hi mate, did you end up finding a solution as I have the same problem?

I was having the same issue with my 2021.Like Tstaino suggested holding the OK key when it’s showing me the days and miles prompted a pop-up that asked me if I wanted to reset.

I too have a 2017 model and could not reset the service interval through the menu. The local Dealer told me that the early (2017) model has different software and has to be set by the dealer using their genuine KDS Scan Tool.

Weird. So they removed the dumb then added it back in but left out the useful submenu that was added at some point. Really stupid.

2021 Kia stinger GT same problem thanks for the post. Hold for 5 seconds and you get option to reset when in the service required display. No time span or mileage amounts available only 6,000 mi and 365 days. I do my own oil changes with first one at 3743 and it was really dark and nasty looking.

Just go to [SETUP⚙️]
press [VEHICLE ⚙️]
Then press on [CLUSTER]
select [SERVICE INTERVAL]

you can figure out the rest, shouldn’t be too hard
