Having searched the forum it seems like a fairly common issue that people have a pumped brake pedal after leaving the car to sit for a day or so, I've had it happen very sporadically myself. It can happen 3 days in a row then not happen again for another 6 months so it seems there's no rhyme or reason to what sets it off. It's never actually caused me an issue but it does point to something being not 100% right so I'd like to address it if its an easy project (I would expect nothing but excuses from my local dealership so I'm not even going to entertain having them take a look)

The check valve seems to get mentioned as a likely culprit quite a bit so I'm thinking if it's an easy swap then it's a good place to start. My question is, can anyone confirm that the brake booster check valve is the part marked in the pics below? And does anyone have an experience of replacing it as a valid fix for the issue?

on my car it was the booster itself, not the check valve. had the valve replaced, the pump replaced, the line replaced, all no good. booster replacement finally fixed it. That is the check valve to the engine vacuum; the 4-headed thing just to the right of it is another. that one takes suction from the engine as well as the vacuum pump and then goes out to the booster. the check valve and that other valve thingy are part of the "intensifier" tube which goes for about $85 on the parts sites. if you are out of warranty and want to try to fix it yourself, start there. install isn't bad, just a few hose clamps and two screws holding the metal part of the line down.

yours being RHD, not sure if part #/prices are the same. I would think it's a different part since your booster is on the other side of the car.

Thanks for this, I wasn't aware the 4-way part to the right also had one in so good to know. I think rhd/lhd looks to be the same as they both meet the plenum and air intake pipe in the same place although you're correct about the location of the booster being different.

it does look the same; the vacuum tube runs to the (passenger) side on your car, where it goes on mine. I guess they then run the hose from there over to the booster on your driver side. but i'd check part nos. just in case. used boosters are fairly easy to come by, at least stateside, if it comes to that. just make sure it's from a GT donor car.
