As the title states what is the correct tool and way to remove wires from the JB4 and FSB module. I have a pending sale on my Stinger and the buyer wants to buy the car without the WMI. My questions is can someone post the correct tool? Will the below video and tool work for the JB4?

@Terry@BMS Can you please read this and help me out, thanks. Anyone else feel free to add your knowledge.

The connector on the below video looks like the JB4.

Is this the correct tool and spec?

Selling your stinger? What are you getting next?

I won’t say that those tools linked above won’t work. I’ll just say they’re not the best for the job and may bend or break.

I’ve found the best d sub, and similar, removal/insertion tools for MIL connectors are those that have a shaft like a screwdriver. They provide the surface area to apply the necessary pressure without bending or breaking the tool, but they can be a little expensive think $45-55.

I know you probably plan on using the tools once and ~$50 for a one time use can be a bitter pill to swallow so maybe you’ll lick up with the red and white tool you linked above.

Can you provide a link to the tool you are talking about? Can you post a pic as well?
If the tool I posted works then I will go with that is only 5 bucks? At this point I am trying to find out what works and doesn’t.

Something like this

Precisetool DAK20B M81969/19-06 DRK20B M81969/17-03 Installing Tool Removal Tool for Contact/Pin/Socket/Terminal in Electronic Connector https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07LFY631F/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_DwmgDbESCMZZE

You need to verify the correct size before purchasing though. That’s something Terry can help you out with. Maybe pop over to n54 Tech. I’m sure this has probably been covered there before.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
I checked everywhere and could not find and answer. I hoping Terry can get in here and help me out. That way others will know as well if they ever need to. I am hoping the standard dsub removal tool I posted works.

You likely won't be able to remove them without damaging something. I suggest you just cut the wires leaving around 2-3" on the JB4 side and let the next owner of the FSB buy/crimp on new DSUB pins to reuse it.

FWIW WMI kits are not great candidates for resale as lots of the parts are effectively one use only. The tank, pump, bracket, solenoid, nozzle, and nozzle adapter though generally are fine for resale. Normally a second WMI kit new owner would need new line, new collets for the compression fittings if changing line length, to recrimp on any cut off connections like the DSUB pins, etc.
