Hey guys, I've removed my rear Kia badge and was getting ready to install the Stinger decal but once I removed the glue to the Kia badge I noticed a red/pinkish tint which seems to be in the clearcoat(I hope). Did any of you guys experience this? How did you get it out?

Have you tried budging it at all? Maybe just was on a pas will get it out

If that doesnt come off with some light rubbing i would take to the dealer and ask them to review. Too many paint issues to mess it up

I would suggest a polish. That is very light and hand polishing should be able to remove that. Get a polish, not a compound. There are good off the shelf polish options from Meguiars and Mother's.

Thanks guys, I tried buffing with a rubbing compound but honestly don't even know if i was doing it right and it didn't come out. I'll try a polish tonight.

A rubbing compound in the most general terminology is a type of polish. What did you use? How long did you attempt to use it? If you did use a polish or compound (correctly) and it did not come off, I wouldn't keep going. The purpose of a polish or compound is the use of fine abrasives to take off a thin amount of clear coat. You can only compound or polish so far before you've completely worn through all the clear and have hit the base coat.

You likely couldn't polish through all the clear coat by hand without spending a copious amount of time rubbing in the same spot, but what I'm saying is don't go crazy with it. I can't see how that residue you have behind the badge could have been caused by anything other than the adhesive used to affix the badge to the car. I still think a polish should work, but it depends what you used as a "rubbing compound."

Try a test patch with either Acetone or Isopropyl Alcohol.

Rubbing compound will remove major imperfections and cause slight ones. Polishing compound will remove the minor imperfections.

Rubbing compound is essentially liquified sandpaper. If that's truly what you used you will need a good polishing compound to undo it.
