Remote start

On my 2018 optima hit remote start. Go out garage mirrors closed doors locked. Open door had about 30 secs to hit brake pedal and button start.
Now with 2021 stinger 2.0 I go out. Mirrors activated open. Door is locked. I open door and car engine goes off. Did they change things ?

Yes - the car shuts off as the door is opened. Not 100% sure why, but my guess is the usual guess for stupid "safety" stuff like this - lawyers.

If you want remote start without car shutting off when you open the door, you will need to go with an aftermarket kit.

Depends. I like the fact that I can start my car with my Kia Smart Key; I don't have to have a separate "fob" for the remote starter. You generally can't get that with an aftermarket starter.

Wrong.

I have a Compustar remote start installed w/Drone Mobile. My installer programmed my Kia fob to start it also. I don't even have a separate fob. Just my phone.
