Hey folks. I purchased my 2019 Stinger used and it did not have any fob(s). I took it to my Kia dealership who took care of this issue. A couple of months back I downloaded my window sticker and on the Additional Installed Equipment list, for $495.00, I have remote start. I took it back to them and they told me that I do not have that option. So, since my fob is programmed for the car already (no remote start button though), I think there is a way that I can program this fob (lock twice and then hatch or something like)? Anyone have an idea? Joe

There is no programming for the FOB or the car. Remote start is a little module that gets installed in the passenger kick panel.
Check your owner's manual for the remote start process and just give it a try.

if the port/dealer installed remote start module is installed , and you don't have the extra fob, hitting the lock button then the trunk button should start the car.

Sadly no. They said that even though it lists it, it doesn't have it
So they charged you for a Dealer installed option, but failed to actually install it. And they acknowledged they failed to install it… and they are refusing to install it now?

well, i bought it used and when i downloaded the window sticker, it showed it was installed.

Likely out of luck. Some people when selling try to make every penny and it’s an easy module to pull and sell for a couple hundred bucks.

There a thread on here on the install. It isn’t that hard. And you can find new modules on eBay for like $250 if I recall.

But it isn’t as advanced as third party remote start systems. And it isn’t cellular. So limited line of sight range.

thanks nh.
formally from Assachusetts myself. got smart and move to NC (WHAT a difference)
