I'm considering a GT1 with red (regular) leather interior.
But I haven't seen this leather in person (did see the red nappa though) and I may have to order and not see it until I get the car. So I'm a little concerned since i'll have to live with it for many years.
Any opinions on the color and feel, as well as photos would be appreciated.

Thanks

I'm fairly sure they are identical in color. The pictures might look a little different because one is on our showroom and one is outside.

Both leathers feel pretty similar in terms of softness in most places but you can tell the nappa leather is a softer in the headrest. Its way smoother as well.

I didn't even know there's a red non-nappa option. Perhaps only for the US market?

One of my questions is what is the best cleaner and conditioner to use on the nappa leather? I have noticed that my blue jeans transfer ink on to the seats.

Just sat in a GT1 and GT2 recently and must say that the difference between the 2 seats was very noticeable. Just to clarify, the colors are identical from my eye. Seat comfort however was different. The GT1 seats felt more firm and reminded me of my 2016 VW GTI seats. The GT2 seats were more supple. The thigh extension and side bolster adjustments were very nice as well. Definitely sit in both and see what works for you. I am in the GT1 price range but would definitely look for a salvage GT2 in the distant future just for the front seats.

i have owned other cars that had nappa leather and i will say that you need to care for them more often than with non-nappa leather. the suppleness is the key, cleaning and conditioning the leather will keep it from cracking. as for the jeans transferring color to the seats, that can't be helped. i, unfortunately, had an m5 with white leather interior. yeah, yeah, i know, white? it was cool for about 15 minutes until i sat down in it and left blue scuff marks from my jeans and a black smear where my belt rubbed against the back bolster. and i would guess driving naked would just cause a whole other set of problems.

What is your favorite product to clean and condition nappa seats

.. which is why I don't want the micro blue with the light interior. It looks great, but is not practical for me. My lifestyle and interests simply don't allow for such opulence..

cleaning products are from a company called griots garage. if i remember correctly, it is xymol, or something like that. i am old, my memory is fading.

I have used several leather conditioners, in my 20+ years in the Auto repair business. My favorite is the Zymol Leather Conditioner, pictured above. following directions, I apply it after the veh has sat in the sun, warming the leather. I had installed new leather in my '88 Lincoln Mark VII LSC. The leather was not as supple as I wanted. I applied the Zymol, approx. once/twice a week, for a month or so. It softened up nicely!

I have also used Zymol on the new leather in my 2, 1996 Impala SS's. Over time, it made the leather softer. Not like fine Italian leather gloves(the BEST IMO), but softer.

FWIW, I have NOT tried it on "Nappa Leather".

Thanks for the photos Dave.
On my monitor, the color of the two types of leather look very similar. Is this the case in person?
And how does the feel of them compare?
Not to butt in, but the Nappa (shown) is slightly thicker and softer than the standard.

If any, I’ve experienced the nappa seats as more firm than the regular leather, particularly the back potion of the seat. The nappa leather is definitely softer and more supple. My wife’s seats are also showing more wear than mine (regular) with approximately the same mileage. I prefer stiffer seats and would get the nappa next time. That said, I’m in no way disappointed with the standard leather. My 2 cents.
