This article sheds a bit of light on maybe why some regions are being teased with options/colors currently unavailable in their markets:
New Kia Stinger Model Variants Being Looked At » AutoGuide.com News

Particularly this passage:

Hendrick said Kia will be updating and adding things to the Stinger lineup frequently, trying to keep it fresh and keep consumers interested. As he explains it, the Stinger is a “want” vehicle, not a “need” vehicle, so you have to do things that make people want it.

“We’re going to be very aggressive for the lifecycle of this vehicle, we’re going to be very aggressive with the colors,” he said. “It’s a fashion statement. You have to keep the car going with powertrain variants and other stuff coming down the road. I think this is something that we have to keep fresh. It’s a ‘want’ car, so it will be like ‘what’s new, what do you guys have that’s new?’”

I agree with what's being said. It's a commo tactic that all the manufacturers use.

Even BMW use LCI during the lifecycle of their models.

Despite their claims, I'd say they are shooting themselves in the foot by withholding options available in other markets. I would own one today if I could buy the colors and options I want, but the way things are looking, I may end up with a G70.

Poll - how many are waiting it out?

I agree. I would probably have already bought one by now, but I'm waiting to see what the 2019 has. Even then I might opt for the 2018 if the price drops considerably.

"Hendrick is looking at making the yellow a production run color." :geek:
