I use my front USB with a USB stick for my music, therefore I can't use Android auto. Is there anyway I can use my rear USB slot for music, or the rear USB slot for Android auto? Perhaps a different cable?

The USB in the rear is for power/charging only, not a port for audio/interface.

Youre stuffed no can do have tried everything. Only way to get round it is to insert a 128gb microsd card in phone and transfer the music to that.

Your best bet is to just put the music onto the phone.

I did exactly that, and then learnt that the music stream is still sent via bluetooth instead of the the damned cable :(

You can change that in your options menu.

Thanks for the info folks, I'll just stick with my USB

I've spent the last half-hour trying to find how; i guess my google-fu isn't that good.

May I trouble you to point me to the right thread/website please? :)

Did you try this option?

Full disclosure, I've never actually tried it. I just remember seeing the option for it.

And if I understand correctly, a USB hub also isn't recognized by the data port. So it's not possible to plug both the phone and thumb drive through the one port. It will only choose one device to run.

Thank you!

I also did one more thing, and this works wonderfully: on my phone's bluetooth settings, in the settings for my car, i unselected the 'Media Audio' option.

Changing the songs has become a hair slower, but it's playing the audio wonderfully, and i still have my Waze on my dashboard screen! :)
