This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... rear and front dash cams

You Aussies with the blackvue, any over heating issues? I live in the desert, so that’s my concern.
No problems here. We’ve had about 40 consecutive days of about 90°F here and the cam is working flawlessly. From memory I think it turns itself off if the internal temperature of your car exceeds about 160°F.

$1500, 4hrs to install a dual camera dashcam?

Took me less than half that time. I got the thinkview f770 with rear camera installed. Hardest part would be carefully removing the plastic trim on the boot, and routing the cable. Hard wiring is simple with the thinkware kit.
I tapped into the door locks for constant, and 12v socket for acc/on.

I have a DR900S 2 channel installed (by me) in my MY 19 Stinger... very easy to do with patience.
I have a CELLINK NEO6 battery which plugs into the Cigarette lighter in the back and the DR900S runs to the battery.

It took me about 30 minutes to do after planning where to run the cable and positioning of the front and rear cameras and with lots of outdoor light to keep track of install.

The DR900S 2 channel with a 128GB micro-SD card stores about 4 days of continuous footage.

The CELLINK NEO6 battery has a 10 hour life at 4K recording in front and 1080 at the back in parking mode with the ignition turned off. The CELLINK bluetooth does allow me to connect to keep track of it's charge level but for 10 hours worth of battery life I need to drive around for about 70-80 minutes.

It's a good investment for insurance purposes with a purchase from Autobarn's ebay au store when there was a 20% off sale last chrissy ($531 with pickup in store) and 15% off the CELLINK NEO6 battery ($369 delivered to my door) from ebay au blackbox reseller.

I'm disappointed on how I'm unable to see number plates when driving at night as is shown in the Blackvue demos for the DR900S... I'll need to find out why that is when I get more time.
Hi ADSL, where did you place the battery? Did you put it under one of the front seats?
I’m looking at the Thinkware U1000 duo channel.

Thanks,

Not sure if that Cellink is actually worth it.

1- My Blackvue 750 dual cam runs all day in parking mode. I've heard it shutdown at the 12hr timer mark - and i have the battery cutoff at the highest setting in order to protect the car's battery. Rarely does the Stinger complain about battery discharge.

2- The Celllink recharge time from flat takes a while - even when directly wired to the car battery. It's not enough for my 20min drive to work each day.

If I were to get it, I'd mount it next to the battery under the boot floor (where the stop/start DC Convertor is mounted on non-Australian models.
