Ready to pull trigger - KIA Stinger or Genesis G70 sport?? Help!!

I'm confused on the pricing structure though. If the pricing on G70 Sport is $57,500 Cad = $43,500 US why would I buy a Stinger GT2 for $50,000?
Kia didn't do anything close to pricing the Stinger in the two markets in accordance with the exchange rate - don't assume that the Genesis will be either. You'll need to wait and see what the US pricing is.

To me the Stinger and the G70 are two entirely different types of car, and at no point did I consider cross shopping them. Price was not a deciding factor - I saw the G70 at the local auto show this Spring, and after a brief review, passed it by without another thought as that wasn't the the style or type of car I wanted. I did take a very close look at the Audi S5 Sportback as an alternative - honestly didn't like the Audi as much, and just to really push the point home it was a huge whack of cash more expensive than the Stinger ... o_O

The Stinger interior is not as nice as the G70 by any means. Not to mention the Sound system.....the suspension tuning is also completely different. I'm confused on the pricing structure though. If the pricing on G70 Sport is $57,500 Cad = $43,500 US why would I buy a Stinger GT2 for $50,000? (gt2 is also missing the 360 camera and wireless charging, while the G70 has both) I realize that USA pricing has not been revealed. To me the G70 is a sports sedan pure and simple, the Stinger as they say is a GT with above average build with and materials. I'm personally going for the G70
I sat in the G70 and I can tell you that build materials are pretty similar. They just added one band of leather on the visible part of the dash and use more "alluminium" here and there. The contrasted stitching and quilted leather does give an upscale look but its the same leather from the same factory. Its more luxury "in your face" but the places where they used cheap plastic in the Stinger, they used cheap plastic in the G70 too (bottom of the doors, behind the steering wheel, second row center vents, etc...).

Interesting.

Trying to remember where I read this, but it baiscally said the times given for the g70 vs the stingers 4.7 to 60 is gonna be 4.5. Obviously ppl have gotten the stinger down to 4.4 stock, so i imagine the same will happen with the g70.
I love my stinger and personally the g70 is a little too much like every other luxury sedan to me. Good luck though

Stinger a prices are almost equivalent in US and Canada and currencies. I don't think G70 will be as cheap as I think it will be but I'm close

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
For me Stinger is true execution to GT concept car. It’s no compromise GT car. Not many companies are brave enough to realease a low roof line 4 door GT sedan. It’s also first real GT from Hyundai and Kia. Stinger GT is also sort of a cult car.

G70 is more of a nice sports sedan. Doesn’t carry same appeal to me. Sure it’s faster but has useless rear seats and small trunk. Styling of G70 also misses for me. Just looks weird.

I saw and sat in the G70 a couple of times at their showrooms. I don't really feel that the G70 is better built in anyway. Both the Stinger and G70 are well built and are comparable to the Germans. Unless you are really looking for it, like going around measuring things, pushing for squeaks and such. Unless you are a racer, I don't think a few seconds 0-60 would matter in the real world. For most, practicality is more important in day to day use. The Stinger wins hands down in that department.

I drove them both and am deciding. The G70 was more fun to drive handling wise, and it would do 90% of the time. I like the Stinger's looks better, inside and out, plus the space will be handy 10% of the time. I do have a Dodge Ram as well if space is really an issue. The G70 leaves 6 inches more space in the garage. My kids are becoming teenagers and are both tall so the leg room is becoming important. I think I'll probably do the Stinger in August and maybe the G70 next go round.
