I heard today that at least in Australia anyway there will be a special release Stinger with Rafa’s name to it.
Looks like it will be a 4 cylinder 2.0ltr and will have 19inch wheels (not sure if the wheels will be a new design or current). It will be fitted with the coffee coloured interior as Australia doesn’t have that colour available. Not sure if there will be other changes at this stage but I wouldn’t be surprised they’ll have some special decal package.
The suggestion is that they are trying to sell more 4 cylinder Stingers as the V6 have had the lions share to date.
It will coincide with the Aus Open next month and the beginning of the Australian advertising campaign.

Interesting that the V6 is outselling the four cylinder over there. You guys really are gearheads! :p

They probably realised earlier that we weren’t concerned with fuel economy as there is no diesel released here. On another note there would’ve room to haggle on a 4 cylinder model if there not selling as many, a bargain to be had.

We don't have a diesel version here either but we do have a lot of people concerned about fuel efficiency. I'm highly confident the 2.0T will more than double V6 sales here in the U.S.

I don't think so. Money might come in to play but not MPG.
A few years ago some supposedly smart people claimed that in the year 2017 2/3 of the cars sold in America would be fuel efficient sedans and 1/3 would be light trucks/suv's. They then decided to set some ridiculous regulations and force them on the auto manufacturers that force them to have fleet MPG ratings that were pretty hard to meet with the made up numbers. Want to guess what the actual numbers are? That's right 2/3 light truck/SUV and only 1/3 sedans. What was going to cost the average consumer 1400 extra to buy a car is looking to be impossible at any price.
tl:dr
Americans as a whole don't care about MPG only the practicality of a bigger vehicle that can haul more people and more things.

In "my world" I always want the better performing version. I guess the deciding factor for most people in America is the cost of the vehicle. I just figured most people bought the smaller-engined Mustangs and Camaros because they didn't have a need for speed...

In our case the V6 is not a huge gap in price from the 4 in the various trims so seems like the power is just too tempting.

That's awesome. Nadal is my favorite tennis player and top 3 all time.

Yeah, money is the deciding factor for me. I do care about MPG, but price is the reason I'm looking at the 2.0 and not the 3.3.

Hum.. sounds like they are going to do a similar thing as the 'dream edition' here in Korea. A few months after the Stinger was released, Kia Korea launched the "dream edition" 2.0T - it's simply the full option GT but with 2.0T instead. Comes with the 19" GT wheels, LSD, etc.

I bet they'll do something similar here in America as well - where the 2.0T can have a more aggressive appearance...

I am with you on this. They might actually go this route to boost sale. Still, I don't really like it. It's like punishing the early-adopters with limiting options - knowing full well they can do better, or have something better in the pipeline. This is different than introducing 'upgrades'.
