i saw this video on Facebook and realized this happened to me too. It isn’t chronic so I just forgot about it. Not sure how to replicate it but I see others on Facebook responding too. So, here’s the video and Kenneth uses som salty language so NSFW. Where do we report bugs like this? This is obviously a need for a firmware fix.

I lost sound one time, last week. Tried to restart, reboot, etc., nothing worked. Finally, after leaving the car and returning, sound came back. This lasted about 30 minutes.

The dealer or Kia Premium Customer Support.
Yeah, I was thinking that, Stinger Support. It’s not duplicatable at will so a dealer is useless. But gathering tech info, the 800 number.

A hard reboot fixed it for me one time (hasn't happened since then). There's a teeny tiny button on the passenger airbag light (next to the Radio tab); pushing it with a pen tip will reset the whole system.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
Yea, reset button usually will take care of it. If you're looking for a fix, I wouldn't hold your breath. It happens so infrequently that it'll never be researched. This has been going on since at least 2012, because our 2012 Sorento would do it occasionally also. The reset button is your friend.

Can confirm this bug has been in Kia vehicles for several years - my Optima had the same problem, and our Sorento does too. All you can do is turn off the vehicle and wait 15 or so minutes for the thing to fully shutdown if you don't want to do the reset thing.

Does the reset button revert any settings, or simply restart the system? I’ve had this happen once or twice.

Reset button leaves all your settings and presets there, it doesn't erase them.
