In my defense, this track wasn't in the greatest shape.. no way to avoid the water trap.

My issue was that with the RaceChip, launch control is rendered ineffective because the car simply has too much power. It kept breaking loose at 4K RPM in 1st. The 60 ft time tells the story.

I'm convinced that I could have been mid 12s with effective driving. I only had time to run three times so not a lot of opportunity to try different techniques and/or settings.

My apologies to RaceChip, as I don't believe that I did your product justice.

Here’s a video of the best run of the night.. it’s tough to see, but I had issues with traction. Also, my wife is as new to filming races as I am to running them, so she cut it off a little short : (

Aside from the suv in the video I raced a heavily modded mustang who killed me with low 11’s and a Fusion ST that got me by a tick when I let off the gas too early.

My first run was 13.1 @ 93 because I thought the boards were the finish line.. like I said - novice.

Im assuming u meant focus st, it would be cool to c a fusion sport race the stinger though, u woulf demolish an st, and 13.1 is still good time

It was a Fusion Sport.. not a Fusion ST. Definitely not a Focus. Whatever flash tune that guy had worked wonders. His best time that night was a 12.7.

I’m convinced that I could have taken him with a better launch. I was running him down, but ran out of track.

Did you replace the plugs? Any other mods

No plug replacement or re-gap yet. I’m in Texas where 93 octane is plentiful, and I’ve had zero issues with the RaceChip for well over 1500 miles.

I plan on re-gapping just to be safe, but it’ll be a while since it’s such a PITA.

A quote from @Diggerdale

"I’ve had RC GTS Black installed just over 2 weeks now running 93 octane only with stock plugs without any performance issues. I’ve had it in race mode one time. Today, I had the plugs changed out for HTS M45iL gapped to .024 at the advice of those on this thread. #3 and #4 were just barely cracked. Glad I had it done when I did!"

You may have already developed issues without knowing it. The plug regapping isn't THAT bad. It takes a while but it isn't exactly labor intensive. And it's great insurance. Good luck.

That’s scary.. I’m going to try to get mine done this weekend. Thanks for the heads up!

Where in Texas are you located? Just wondering about your elevation?

Central TX.. a little over 700 ft.

I would think that elevation would affect my trap speed if it were the issue. I feel like 111 is pretty solid.

I was just curious for myself... I'm in El Paso, about 3600 ft elevation. Your 12.9 would be about a 13.5 here. 111 trap speed would be 107.
