Raccoon

I got a raccoon today while doing managed to slow down to about 20 before I hit it. Anyway I was wondering if anyone else has had damage like this or if it’s fixable myself....I’ve tried manipulating the lower grille with no success and I’m hoping that when I take it to the dealer they don’t charge me an arm and a leg. I’m only noticing damage on the lower grille everything else seems to be in good shape.

The one pictures appears to have broken clips. Normal dealer protocol is to replace broken items, not attempt to fix with glue or adhesive. If the mounting points on the the bumper cover are still good, you might just need a new grille replacement. I'd suspect a dealer would charge about 2-3 hours labor for this...is my guess. The part will be ungodly expensive though from my experience on Kia OEM parts for this car....

I hit a large cardboard box on the highway last week. More damage than yours it would appear, but similar parts affected. Check the underside apron/tray thing for damage too. Pics of my incident in the "Northern Virginia Stingers" thread.

That sucks man, I saw your pictures at least your bumper looks salvageable.....as for my apron it looks ok only broke a couple clip/pins but idk about the lower grille I’m hoping it’s not too expensive

My bumper is cracked. They are replacing it, the grill, the apron thing and some other bits. I'm having the work done at a body shop rather than a dealer, however the body shop mentioned they get the parts from a nearby dealer. Best of luck with your repairs!

My bumper is cracked. They are replacing it, the grill, the apron thing and some other bits. I'm having the work done at a body shop rather than a dealer, however the body shop mentioned they get the parts from a nearby dealer. Best of luck with your repairs!

I narrowly avoided a possum a few weeks ago doing about 35. Would have taken out the lower grille also. I was able to weave around it. Possums are useless creatures that make nice speed bumps and then lie flat in the road. Should have been in my truck.
