I've had my 22 Stinger GT for 14 months. Had it in for it's third service yesterday, and was told the brake pads have less than 60% remaining and will need replacement within a year. They said this is not unusual for this vehicle. I'm a calm driver and not fast, so I think I'm easy on the brakes. Is this an unusual amount of wear? I've put 24k kms on the car. Thank you for your help.

I'm not a "calm" driver, but I am easy on the brakes. I go through a half millimeter or more every c. 4K miles. I'm still on the OEM pads at c. 55K miles. I'd say that you are a lot more demanding of your brakes than I am. :D

I swapped my junky OEM pads out at 60k kms.

Your wear seams about inline with that.

How long did you expect them to last?

I wore my rear pads out at about 30,000kms so sounds about right. I dont think they're exaggerating.
Interesting - thank you. May I ask if you went with OEM replacement pads, or with an after market brand? Would you recommend them if so?

Thank you for your info. What pads did you get?
These Centric pads
I now have 95k on the car.

So 35kms on these pads. All is well and good.

I usually replace pads/rotors myself but the dealership caught the rear pads looking low on an inspection so I let them replace the rears with OEM. In retrospect I shouldve just done them myself, but they had me over a barrel because it was a safety inspection and my own fault for not looking beforehand. My fronts are currently the same Centric pads that DJ is running above and they're great, zero noise, affordable and dont cause vibration issues like OEM pads.

At the 40,000km service i had 8mm of pad all round. Service just done the 50,000km im still at 8mm's. Im a cruise control fanatic and drive by thumb which is out on the country highways. Rarely do i use hard breaking and at worse i only lightly dab. My litre usage per 100 km is 8.5.

Very helpful data. Thank you.

If the 8mm measurement is accurate..

And the pad thickness is 10.6mm new (front)
And the service limit is 2.8mm (front)

You have used only 33% it your pads for 50,000kms of driving - which means if you continue to drive as you do, you should reach approx 150,000kms before your pads reach the service limit of 2.8mm thickness.

Good news.
