Assembled my new Quick Jack and did the first lift. My model is the 5000ext. It is barely long enough to span the jack points. Looking at the specs., I would recommend the 6000xlt. Otherwise it lifts smooth and gives me plenty of space under the car.7.webp6.webp

It did take awhile. The manual is ok, but I found the set up tutorial video they have of more use.

Your battery box vent/drain plug is MISSING!? o_O

True! I managed to scrape it off some time ago. Replacement is ready to go next time I'm under the car.

I replaced my missing one with a rubber grommet; it looks like a smaller version of the bigger one.

Very nice! I've been borrowing a friend's 5000-SLX with the extension plates (so essentially a 5000-EXT) and it was fantastic for working on the car. Like you said, it doesn't quite get fully inside the lift points, but it gets the job done. The 6000-XLT is on my wish list, but I need to wait and see what car my wife chooses next to make sure it fits both.

Also, don't be like me this last go around. DO NOT disconnect the hoses when under load without backing down all the way to a safety catch and depressurizing the system. I made this mistake and backed the lift down to the first catch, but didn't depressurize all the way while on the catch. Long story short, the piston side of the system stayed pressurized and the quick connect fittings would not reconnect. I ended up having to slowly release pressure from the hydraulic piston bleeder valve until it was backed off enough to reconnect and then lower the car. PITA way to spend the day figuring out how to get your car back on the ground. Especially when it's Saturday and QuickJack customer service is 9-5 M-F

Thanks for the heads up.
