To start off id like to say that im a car noob and this is my first car that i plan to do aftermarket upgrades to.
I just purchased a GT2 and im wondering what easy to install and uninstall upgrades can i get or do to my GT2 that wont void the warranty, and if all of them will void it than what upgrades can i make thatll balance out fuel economy and performance (when in ECO i want better MPG but when in sport i want all the power)

I purchased an upgrade to my spark plugs and bought the Racechip and im wondering if the change in gap from stock to .24 - .28 will damage the engine more so than the stock. Ive read mixed things saying that the stock ones are trash and that tons of people are regapping them to the standard above, but i need to know if thats going to prematurely kill my engine (or rather reduce the lifespam of it below normal)

The most im looking to do with this car is to take it to the track and run it every now and again, but other than that its going to be my daily driver.

If you are suggesting upgrades could you please also link some products on that upgrade, thanks!

Hey Anden,

We actually have an entire page dedicated to the topic of aftermarket parts and Kia warranties on our website. Many people have the same worries as you and we have worked hard to provide as much information as possible to consumers like yourself who are doing the due diligence. What this page says, in a nutshell, is that these aftermarket parts will not void your warranty. The details of why and how these parts are allowed under warranty are explained further at the link provided CLICK HERE . I would be glad to discuss this further with you as well. Here at www.k8stingerstore.com we offer a wide variety of parts for your vehicle including performance products but also cosmetic and other products as well. I would personally suggest starting with an Injen intake, based on what you are looking for. Cooler air temperatures brought into the engine will help your daily driving mpg as well as add some extra power and sound when you step on the gas pedal. You can view this product at the link below.

Kia Stinger 3.3T - Injen Intake System

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. I would be glad to help you understand more about your warranty and more about the variety of options available to customize your Stinger.

Along that note there's also several threads devoted to intakes and exhausts in the Engine and Drivetrain board. Like this one: Intake Comparison
The Stinger has several great intake options and that is an upgrade that'd make sense for you. You might find that the Injen makes more or less sense than some of the others out there based on your own needs. Personally my first upgrade wasn't performance related. I took it in for PPF right away since the paint on these cars isn't the best and our daily drivers tend to suffer some abuse from wayward rocks and pebbles! As a fellow new owner I wish you all the best.

Howdy! You can always race stock, stick to that class and blow away most of what you're up for in class. Of course, that is "boring" to those who love to mod.

I know from reading on here for over a year, that no plug in mods will void the warranty. And if you're still worried you can take them off before heading to the service center.

The only mods I've done are PPF (also), and the Eibach rear sway bar. Handling was improved in the areas of "float" and side stepping out in curves with uneven surfaces. The whole car feels more buttoned down (not that I felt to complain prior to the upgrade: the handling of the Stinger is great; and the faster it goes the more stable it seems to feel: said another way: no matter how fast you go the Stinger stays just as stable, smooth and quiet).

Sway bars are next for me too, then lowering springs and lighter, staggered width wheels. The car makes plenty of power for my needs and California is super restrictive, but once I have money I'd love to do intake/exhaust/tune and BOV and probably leave it at that.

Oh, one other good mod to start out with is an oil catch can system, as any engine nerd can tell you that direct injection engines tend to build up a lot of deposits in internal places you can't easily or cheaply clean, and this can impact long term performance especially if you drive the car hard. The catch can filters and traps the excess engine oil that would normally be getting caked to your injectors so you can dispose of it properly.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
