Is there any way to completely turn off the pumped in exhaust sound? Its right at that loudness where its just an annoying hum for me. I wish I could turn it off without going into custom mode.
Thanks

the ability came for all the modes in 2019 i believe... does anyone who has done the infotainment updates know if the new software on the 2018's add that feature? That was the first thing I did, turn off that "enhanced" engine sounds..

I have a 2018 and you can turn the sound off in my menu under the custom drive mode.

right, but i believe he was asking/wishing he could turn it off without needing to do the custom mode which was offered in later years. I have mine turned off overall regardless of drive mode. I was wondering if sw updates added the option like the 2019+

Oops I clearly didnt read his last sentence. I was under the impression that the fake noise was defaulted to off in eco and comfort modes and only on in sport mode and available in custom mode.

Its all good lol, from what it sounds like its in all drive modes except custom where I turned it off. I want it always off. Maybe the actual exhaust is just enough to be an annoying hum at 80 on the highway. I'm coming from a mazda 3 where you cant hear it at all and a GTO where I cant hear anything but lol (long tubes and straight piped).

Have a 2019, in the latest version of the center console/navigation there was an option under settings to turn it off completely for me no matter the drive mode.

I don't notice the fake exhaust at all. Even in sport I don't hear too much additional noise. I have a 2018 but I don't notice any engine humming at 80mph. I hear a lot of wind noise

Huh, see I don't notice the wind at all. I know its all a different based on each person but I didn't think it was this different lol. I'm running a steady 80 in eco mode and hear the constant hum. I wonder if its actually the exhaust. Its not loud at all its just there.

100% that's the exhaust, the pumped in engine noise really only ramps up under harder throttle.

Alright, I haven't heard one from the outside in person so I couldn't compare. But from the vids I've seen I cant hear them driving by just cruising, that's why I thought you wouldn't be able to hear it from the inside either.
