Pulled the trigger on Megan Racing Catback system today

I know this exhaust isn't all that common and not very well documented in these forums since it's only a year or so old, but from the tiny bit of info I was able to find on it, and from reviews for the systems they make for other cars, I decided to go with this one. It was between this and the MBRP. I do like the tone of the Megan Racing better. The MBRP might be slightly louder, but the Megan would be perfect for what I'm looking for personally. I'll post a review of it once I get it installed.

I also found a very nice deal on it. KDM Project has it for $625. It was right about $700 after shipping. 304 stainless. The stainless MBRP would've been at least $1,000 from the cheapest place I could find it... not including shipping.

Im curious to see how the drone is with no helmholtz resonators on it... I see what look to be two resonators up front but I dunno if that'll do much more than cut down on rasp and/or quiet it down a bit.

Stainless and polished for that price is one hell of a deal.
helmholtz cans are a relatively new thing. No stock exhaust had them until very recently, and drone has always been a problem with aftermarket systems. It's really down to the design of the muffler and how it works with the engine. As long as they made good life choices then it should work out well.

I was on the fence whether to get that or the MBRP. ended up with the stainless MBRP on a black friday deal. Kinda curious to see how the Megan would have sounded.

FWIW, my 1997 BMW 540 stock exhaust had a helmholtz can on it.

I've heard that it's very bassy which makes me think it has a lot of drone.
