So a few questions on the Borla install. What are shops charging to swap these out from OEM? I'm on the fence about doing this myself or just having it done somewhere. I was able to swap out spark plugs on my own and intakes. Is the difficulty pretty comparable? If I were to do it myself I would be limited to just jack stands or a couple vehicle ramps. How difficult is it when trying to swap this out on the ground? Thanks for any info.

Do it yourself.

it isn’t difficult. I didn’t even use jack stands (would have helped).

only used race Ramps in the rear.

it was a bit tight (I’m fat and old). But doable.

I didn’t even have extensions/wolbles. Which would have helped Tremendously had to use a mallet against my small ratchet for the front most bolts behind the cat /midpipe.

My dumb ass did it in the heat of Atlanta’s summer. Mid July. I almost died of heat exhaustion/dehydration. But that probably won’t be an issue. .

I'm a bigger guy myself. I'm hoping to coax my skinny friend in to helping me with it. Hopefully get it installed next weekend.

If you’re close by to a military post, many have auto hobby shops with lifts and a decent amount of tools available. Just need a friend with a military ID who wants to hangout for an hour or so.
The swap is very strait forward. Being able to work standing up is a big help.

Grab yourself some wd40 or liquid wrench, it will help both with the removal of bolts and the hangars, will also help reinstallation of the hangars.

This is the only mod I didn’t do myself because I don’t have a lift. It was less than $100 for my shop.

I installed my MBRP catback myself with just ramps. I'm not a big guy though. 5'10" and 150 lbs, so I had no trouble with room under the car

An electric impact, impact u-joints, and extensions will make it a breeze. For hangers, mix dish soap in water in a spray bottle, and just spray the hangers with it. Makes them slide right off and the water/dish soap not only cleans the hanger, but dries up and disappears rather quickly.

I prefer to use my own snot. The mucus makes everything slide off nice and easily, and when it dries up it just flakes off. Also it's all natural, non GMO, organic, and local.
