• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

Video is primarily about the Subaru Impreza performance, but i posted this video for the informative advice John Cadogan provides on Proximity Key Fob Hack Attacks and how too avoid them.
Starts near the end of the video, if you do not want to watch from the beginning, fast forward to 11:08 minutes in. Enjoy.

Good find. Looks like I will have to find a tin to act as a faraday cage!

Sure will have too..haha

I learned a hack (haven’t watched the video yet, but he’s covered the Stinger too) in the later 90’s. I was working at my desk on the second floor, my car in the lot out back maybe 200-300 feet away. A “buddy” saw my keys on my desk with the remote fob. He took my keys put the fob to his chin and pressed the trunk open. He then said; you’re welcome, your trunk is now open. I went to the other side of the floor (open floor plan no inner walls) looked out the window and my trunk was open.

Putting it to your chin makes your body a giant antenna. Sigh, I use that feature all the time now.

I'll take that on the chin..haha, i find that really interesting , never heard of such a thing, will try myself next time. Just like i will place the Key Fob in a tin, and i guess the car will not pick it up, even up close.

Oh, it definitely extends the range. See, in an open lot, preferably with a friend how far away you can open and close the hatch. When you find the limit, go further and touch your chin. Pop!
A friend can close it at your range point.

So where can I purchase a Faraday cage

Shop for RFID protected wallets. The keep your chipped cards from being read by scam artists. They work, my wife has one.
Aluminum foil works.
A small metal box will.
I tried a metalized bag used to keep static charges from electronics equipment (hard drives, PC extension cards etc), doesn't work.
Haven't tried a chip bag, but I doubt it will work. But worth a try if you want to clean it first...
