Has anyone had this done? I picked up a set of front Brembos for my 2022 GT-Line that I want to get powder coated, but the powdercoaters want the calipers disassembled, besides removing the pistons, what else is involved in prepping them for powder coating?? I could live with the red, but I’d much prefer a bronze color with the red Brembo lettering to go with my Ascot green with the black tinted bronze RTX Envy’s I put on….the green/red color scheme is a bit too Christmas for me.
Back in the day, I had a local guy who was doing that out of his garage do a set of LS1 calipers powder coated in a bronze type color. Turned out really nice, I was gonna "upgrade" my brakes on my Grand Prix with dual piston. Had a bronzmist 4dr with black wheels. I remember how nice they looked, I was amazed back then. Ended up selling the calipers and the car eventually. That guy has since blown up and is one of the better places around here to do powder coating. Really wanna get my stock wheels done in a gloss black.
You definitely need to disassemble the calipers rubber seals, all the hardware but it looks great when done. What brakes come on the gt-line, dual piston?
^^the GT-Line's calipers are SINGLE piston, but they're actually pretty decent- I came across a sweet deal on a set of front Brembos- they're pretty sexy and I couldn't help myself, they'll look so good in there...

The powder coater won't disassemble/reassemble for you? That's surprising.... Might want to look around and see if there's a more car-oriented powder shop.
Check youtube - there's tons of videos on how to disassemble calibers. It's very easy, but need to do it in a few steps to make it easy. Just shoving air in it will cause one piston to fly out, then you have to pull all the others manually.
Pull pistons, pull dust seals (literally, just pull them), there should also be square cut seals inside the bore, and remove the bleeders.

Perhaps....they also changed the brakes on the base models, I believe in 2020....? So perhaps thats why conflicting info, or maybe I'm just wrong, lol, could be.
GT-Line’s are single piston. I do believe the rotor diameter has changed over the years for the base model, but to my knowledge the base model is single piston front/rear.
Ebay....they were everywhere when I was in the market and the fronts are worth it, but you will likely have to deal with rotor/brake shudder from build up, time to time. Not sure if the stock calipers had that issue...
